The Wood Council's Purpose is:
To promote, encourage and coordinate the sustainable economic development of plantation forestry and the wood products industry in Canterbury and the West Coast.
CWCWC represents the industry in discussions with the government and local councils, and promotes the benefits of forestry to the community.
It helps members work together on initiatives that benefit the industry and celebrate the great work they do.
