The Northland Wood Council helps ensure the region’s forestry industry is efficient, sustainable and safe.

With a vision for a vibrant, sustainable and respected forestry industry, the Northland Wood Council represents plantation forest owners and managers and leads best practice and innovation. It holds annual industry awards to celebrate local forestry heroes! Check out the recent winners here: Northland Forestry Awards.

The Northland Wood Council hosts many working groups to ensure the region’s forestry industry is efficient, sustainable and safe. The working groups address areas such as the environment, health and safety, working with domestic wood processors, working with Northport and port-users, as well as transport network providers.

The Council is also involved in education, administering a scholarship given out by Northpine each year to encourage Northlanders to study forestry, as well as holding career days with high schools and running the Wood Is Good in primary schools.
